Austin is the Capital of Texas, home to executive, legislative and judicial branches. The capital dome is the second largest in the US after the capital dome in Washington. The Capital is one of Austin's most popular tourist attractions.

Sports

Austin is the home of the University of Texas. Hook 'em Horns! If you enjoy college sports, it doesn't get any more exciting than this. Are you into pro basketball? If so, you can catch a Spurs game in San Antonio, just one hour south of Austin. Enjoy a day of baseball with the family at nearby Dell Diamond. We even have an Ice Hockey Team, the Austin Ice Bats.

History and Culture

Known as the "Live Music Capital of the World," Austin is known for its Austin City Limits and SXSW music festivals, where national and local artists are featured. The Backyard and the Frank Erwin Center host a variety of concerts and music performances.
