Duration: 3 days

This course covers the operations, administration and management of Teamworks. Topics such as installation, configuration, upgrades, systems management, promotions, and root cause analysis will be covered in great detail. During the course participants will have various labs that reinforce topics such as tracing and logging (break/fix), installation, and process promotions across environments.

Objectives

Students will have a working understanding and some experience in:

  • Understand how to perform installations ("green-field" versus upgrading) of Teamworks on WebLogic in a stand-alone configuration
  • Understand how to perform installations ("green-field" versus upgrading) of Teamworks on JBoss in a stand-alone configuration
  • Understand how the security mechanisms work and how they would fit within their organizations
  • Understand the various configuration options such as user interface customizations, network level specifics, logging, etc.
  • Understand the options around user management and role definitions/assignments
  • Understand the options of monitoring the Teamworks platform
  • Understand the capacity planning approach of setting up Teamworks in a high availability environment (Clustering) and overall sizing metrics.
  • Root-Cause Analysis approach and tools in Teamworks
  • Understand the areas of Teamworks tuning for optimization

Target Audience

The target audience for this course is System Engineers, Developers, Network Operations Specialists, and Software Architects.

Prerequisites:

  • Knowledge of BEA WebLogic or JBoss or IBM's WebSphere
  • Fundamental TCP/IP Networking knowledge
  • Distributed Environments
  • IT troubleshooting skills
  • Basic J2EE Understanding
  • Windows Server (XP, .NET)
  • Basic knowledge of RDBMS (working SQL knowledge would be a plus)
  • Must have attended the Teamworks Modeling Processes course
