Lombardi Software Adds Revolutionary Process Optimizer to TeamWorks Enterprise Edition
New Functionality Gives Business Users An Interactive Environment for Understanding, Visualizing and Improving Process Performance
AUSTIN, Texas - November 1, 2005 - Lombardi Software, the leader in Business Process Management (BPM) software for Global 2000 companies, today announced that the TeamWorks Process Optimizer is now available for the TeamWorks Enterprise Edition platform. The TeamWorks Process Optimizer delivers significant new process analysis, simulation and predictive capabilities never before available in a BPM platform.
"The TeamWorks Process Optimizer changes the BPM landscape by giving business users the ability to uncover process problems and explore various solutions for optimizing those processes," said Phil Gilbert, Executive Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer of Lombardi Software. "Like the Performance Server before it - still the industry's best solution for capturing process performance data - the TeamWorks Process Optimizer takes a quantum leap beyond automating processes to improving the organization's overall business performance. This is really where our customers are going with BPM."
Designed as a tool for strategic business analysis, the TeamWorks Process Optimizer gives users the ability to understand, visualize and improve process performance. It has performance analytics built into the process model and interactively suggests how to optimize processes. Business users can see whether recommended changes will achieve the desired result and, for the first time, have the ability to prove that process change will drive business improvement.
"The TeamWorks Process Optimizer is a radical step forward in process management and how key information can be delivered to the business," said Dennis Korevitski, IT Director at T-Mobile. "The ability to see process flow and instantly pinpoint where problems are occurring, see its performance statistics and have TeamWorks offer intelligent optimization suggestions based on production data will greatly enhance our decision-making process."
The TeamWorks Process Optimizer delivers new process performance benefits in several ways:
Process Understanding: The TeamWorks Process Optimizer offers on-the-fly filtering of historical process data, allowing users to create built-in or ad hoc business scenarios so that process performance can be understood based on any segmentation of business data the user desires. For example, business users can see how orders from one retailer compared against orders from all retailers, or which suppliers missed their service level agreements more than 10% of the time.
Process Visualization: The TeamWorks Process Optimizer facilitates collaboration among users involved in the process. Using an advanced visual interface, process analytics and business scenarios are "heat mapped" directly onto the process diagram. Multiple forms of analysis are unified into a simple, visual diagram, keeping everyone connected in the context of the process. For example, a user might want to determine if certain process instances flowed over an "exception path" more than 20% of the time.
Process Improvement: The TeamWorks Process Optimizer contains new inference technology called Guided Optimization that analyzes all inputs to a step in the process and determines data correlations that lead to specific process results. Based on this understanding, the system then offers the ability to automatically create an improved version of the process. This capability, unique to TeamWorks, is driven by the out-of-the-box data collection capabilities of the TeamWorks Performance Server.
