Press Release
Lombardi Announces Results of BPM Business in 2008
Leading BPM Suite Vendor Continues Momentum with Expansion of Customer Base, Global Reach and Solution Offering During FY2008
Austin, Texas - February 23, 2009 - Lombardi, a leader in business process management (BPM) solutions, today released highlights of its business performance for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2008. Driven by significant customer acquisition and expansion, the company achieved 47 percent software sales growth as compared to the same period in 2007.
During 2008, the company continued to attract dozens of new enterprise-class customers to its rapidly expanding base, fueled by its award-winning BPM product and solution offerings. Customer traction was strong across a wide variety of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, telecommunications, retail, travel services, education, and insurance. Lombardi also saw healthy interest for its products and services in the U.S. Federal Government during 2008. Moreover, numerous existing customers continued to expand their deployments of Lombardi's software, leading to both add-on license and services transactions for the company throughout the year.
"The key issue for companies today is simple to state, but hard to do - they need to lose fat while building muscle. Lombardi helps our customers do both," said Phil Gilbert, president of Lombardi. "First, our software enables better process understanding and implementation; you can trim the fat faster with Blueprint and Teamworks than any other solutions. Second, our customers build internal skills more quickly than any other solution, increasing the muscle. These make our customers stronger candidates to do well in today's bad times, and do great in the coming good times."
Representative customer wins during 2008 include AARP, Allianz subsidiaries in Australia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Russia and Thailand, as well as American Student Assistance, City of Calgary, Charles Schwab, El Araby Group, FIT Residencial, IMS Health, Jaguar Land Rover, Médica Integral GNP, Midwest ISO, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Quicksilver Resources, TeliaSonera, TPG-Axon Capital Management, T. Rowe Price, WE Energies, XL Global Services, Inc, Yale University and numerous US civilian and intelligence agencies.
A summary of Lombardi's results for the year ended December 31, 2008 include the following:
- Operational Growth: Grew software sales revenue by 47 percent as compared to the same period in 2007.
- Customer Acceptance: During the year achieved dozens of strategic customer wins and client "go-live" process deployments of Lombardi Teamworks BPMS, including receiving the largest services agreement in the company's history.
- SaaS Adoption: Surpassed 4,500 companies using Lombardi Blueprint, an 'on-demand' process-documentation tool that is used to collaboratively map an organization's business processes, identify problems, and prioritize improvement opportunities, making it the most widely used Software as a Service (SaaS) BPM product.
- Pioneering Services: Adoption of the Lombardi On-Demand Assistance (LODA) subscription-based services offering grew dramatically, to nearly one-third of the total customer base. Additionally the company introduced a series of fixed-price process offerings that are focused on helping companies document, analyze and prioritize their process initiatives.
- Partner Ecosystem: Continued to expand the company's global sales and support ecosystem, including the addition of partners and resellers located in Australia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Russia, Scandinavia and Thailand.
- Corporate Social Responsibility: Began a global program of community involvement. In 2008, Lombardi provided direct financial assistance to the Austin (Texas) Center for Child Protection, hosted public blood drives for the American Red Cross, provided materials and assistance to 'Habitat for Humanity', and participated in 'green' recycling programs, as well as supporting the many other community- and faith-based projects carried on by our employees.
"2008 was a very good year for Lombardi and it has positioned us well for 2009 and beyond," said Rod Favaron, chief executive officer at Lombardi. "We successfully executed on our plan to focus on growth, innovation and global expansion, and most importantly, we did it profitably."
