Lombardi Software Announces Teamworks Enterprise Edition 5.5 and Teamworks Enablement Practices
New Software and Enablement Promise Business Managers the Shortest Path to Enterprise Process Excellence
AUSTIN, Texas– June 6, 2005 – Lombardi Software®, the leader in pure-play Business Process Management (BPM) software for Global 2000 companies, today announced the TeamWorks™ Enterprise Edition 5.5 platform and introduced its TeamWorks Enablement Practices™. Together, Lombardi's innovative software release and its implementation best practices give companies the capability for repeatable success implementing BPM across the enterprise.
"Delivering a technology solution for a single process is something most BPM vendors can manage," said Rod Favaron, president and chief executive officer of Lombardi Software. "However, real success with BPM – in proven enterprise deployments with companies like Dell, Hasbro, Pfizer, and Aflac – means delivering a repeatable process solution. This success is deeply rooted in the relationship between a software vendor's technology and their accompanying methodology. And Lombardi is the only BPM vendor to deliver on the promise of shared-model technology tightly linked to real-world best practices, driving alignment and repeatability in every enterprise deployment."
The TeamWorks Enterprise Edition 5.5 platform drives process ownership even further into the hands of business managers with its shared process authoring environment and innovative approach to packaged process templates. Collaboration between business and IT is also enhanced with the only graphical forms designer that allows "round-trip" development of user interfaces.
TeamWorks Enablement Practices is a set of formal programs and best practices that ensure Lombardi's customers and partners can take advantage of the new organizational and development opportunities that the TeamWorks platform provides. Complementary to existing development and process methodologies such as SDLC and Six Sigma, these best practices focus on driving alignment and consistency to ensure that measurable value is created as quickly as possible. The TeamWorks Enablement Practices are based on 25 man-years of deployment experience, capturing and codifying the critical aspects of implementation success. They work hand in hand with the TeamWorks platform to ensure higher efficiency and lower project risk.
"Lombardi understands that technology is only half the battle and that the methods used to model, simulate and deploy the software play a critical role in the success of any BPM project," said David Adams, Business Integration Manager at Hasbro. "The benefits of Lombardi's expertise in enablement have meant more efficient deployments as our implementations started moving across the enterprise."
TeamWorks Enterprise Edition 5.5 Delivers Playback, Expanded Template Library
TeamWorks Enterprise Edition 5.5 is the only BPM platform that provides "Playback" – the ability to execute the process model in real-time as the process is being developed. This gives the IT and business organizations instant, iterative feedback as to how the process runs. This capability is critical to successfully managing the changes that happen as companies refine their processes.
Since all participants have a shared, common view of the process throughout the design process, Playback provides tighter alignment between business and IT, allowing continuous validation and ensuring true collaboration.
With TeamWorks Enterprise Edition 5.5, Lombardi expands their process templates to include a broad library of several dozen pre-packaged templates for a variety of vertical and functional processes – from finance to HR to operations. Unlike other offerings, TeamWorks process templates leverage the BPMN standard to represent process flows and provide roles, activities, rules, user interfaces, key metrics, simulation information and best practice ScoreBoards. Because the templates are built using TeamWorks data-driven Shared Model Architecture, they can be easily modified and extended for customer specific requirements.
"Our goal is to provide a complete BPM solution that yields a measurable improvement in our customer's operational processes," said Tony Perdichezzi, Chief Executive Officer of Fiserv Insurance Solutions. "This means bringing together an industry-leading platform like TeamWorks, the insurance solutions expertise of Fiserv, and the ability to leverage a customer's existing IT investment for their BPM implementations. As companies look to expand their BPM vision across the enterprise, reusable components – such as templates – accelerate new deployments and yield faster results for the business."
TeamWorks Enablement Practices Bolster Successful BPM Implementations
Global 2000 companies are looking to advance the organizational adoption of BPM. Vendors need to be able to articulate methodologies in detail because specific capabilities of their software greatly influence the way the product can be implemented. However, helping companies achieve repeatable success requires much more than standard product training classes. Since many processes require better definition and they change often, organizations also require methods that help teams collaborate on process design. These methods assure alignment for implementation and a shared understanding of which capabilities maximize value.
TeamWorks Enablement Practices are comprised of five elements:
- Individual skills training for using the TeamWorks product
- Team methods and best practices, focusing on driving design alignment and delivering business value
- Organizational best practices, to develop a repeatable model for successful BPM deployments
- Certification – objective, cross-company standards to ensure teams have the skills and methods to ensure successful, efficient deployments.
- Process Toolkit – A TeamWorks library of reusable templates that speed process implementation and provide a basis for implementing company-best practices
The TeamWorks Enablement Practices empowers professionals to command a highly efficient and repeatable way of implementing business processes.
